NOTES & FACTS FROM THE POLICE BLOTTER
- An accident on Route 20 sent five to area hospitals and lead to the arrest of the driver for DWI. Ryan Stapleton of Collins N.Y. admitted to making a U turn in front of oncoming traffic when he was hit. As he was about to be released after his arrest, he became abusive and a judge was contacted for arraignment. Stapleton was sent to the ECHC in lieu of $1000 bail and ordered to received a forensic exam prior to his release.

Police called to an accident scene on Shadagee Road found a vehicle that had rolled several times and ejected the occupant. Taken to Mercy Hospital by Mercy Flight was Keith Deitsch of Old Jennings Rd. Eden. Deitsch died of his injuries later that morning.

Police responded to Evelyn Drive area on the report of shooting injury. Police interview a witness who advised that the victim, who was intoxicated wanted to show the witness how the gun worked. While doing so the gun did discharge and the bullet struck the victim in the head.
- Police, in conjunction with the police in Duluth, Minnesota investigated a Internet child pornography complaint. A computer was examined and evidence found turned over to an investigator in Duluth.
