NOTES & FACTS FROM THE POLICE BLOTTER

  • Reserve Police Officer of the Month was Seth Howard. Seth participated in every detail during June and also volunteered to work radio on nearly every empty shift. Reserve members are only asked to put 8 hours a month on desk, dispatching yet Seth put in over 40. His, and the other volunteers assistance helps the patrol officer on the street be more efficient.

    The department wishes to congratulate all Eden High School graduates and especially Holly Ferris. Holly was selected by the police club to receive their annual Scholarship Award. She plans to attend college, pursuing a career in Criminal Justice.

    Two more individuals were arrested after a June 16th burglary and assault on the occupant after arrest warrants were obtained.. The burglary occurred on Mill Road in Eden and two teens were almost instantly arrested after Hamburg police located them from a description of the assailants. Arrested by warrant were Christopher Udrea 18, Hamilton Dr, Evans and Joshua Sweda, 20, Buffalo St., Hamburg. Udrea was picked up in Evans and turned over to us after being arraigned on Possession of Stolen Property in their Town. He was sent to the Holding Center pending $2,500 bail. Sweda was released on bail to appear in Eden Court.

    Filed a burglary report on E. Eden Rd.. when an unlocked garage was entered and a Playmate Cooler and $70 worth of beverages were taken.
