NOTES & FACTS FROM THE POLICE BLOTTER

  • At the Reserve Police monthly meeting, members honored Officer John McCarthy for Outstanding Officer of the Month.

  • Police recovered $179 from a Silver Creek resident for a local business who was issued a check for services with insufficient funds. Another $1,480 was obtained for another party when another bad check was issued for the purchase of a vehicle.

  • Charged an Eden man with DWI and drug possession after responding to a Domestic Complaint. A Criminal Contempt of Court charge was also placed on the individual after it was learned that his actions violated a court order.

  • Arrested a Hamburg man for DWI and Leaving the Scene after responding to a report of a Hit and Run accident on W. Church St. Police located the vehicle and driver on Schoolview Rd.

  • Took a report of Criminal Mischief on Sunset Drive where a paper box was destroyed by fire. Police learned of 2 juveniles that were involved and both have been enrolled in a Junior Fire education program. ( For anyone interested, the J-Fire program is available to all residents of the county. If parents find their children experimenting with fire or overly interested playing with matches or lighters and are concerned they can contact either the Fire Chief or a member of the police department and more information can be given and a referral if needed.)

  • Arrested a Buffalo resident for imprudent speed and DWI after Emergency personnel responded to a report of a roll over accident. The driver who was lost wrecked her vehicle as she attempted to make the turn onto Haag Rd. from East Eden.

  • Filed a report for a home owner whose dog was killed when the tree next to the house the animal was chained to was struck by lightning.

  • A daytime burglary report was taken after a Ferrier Road resident came home and found their house had been entered. Entry was gained to the home by cutting a screen over a window left open. Electronic equipment and jewelry were taken.
