NOTES & FACTS FROM THE POLICE BLOTTER

Fred Strozewski was selected as employee of the month.
Fred is the most senior member of the department, having
worked for Eden prior to its becoming a civil service
agency in 1973. Although retired from the City of Buffalo
and no longer takes a scheduled shift on the Town force,
Fred continually shows up at serious calls and backs up
the other members.
- Police wish to invite the youth of Eden to attend
our annual Bike Rodeo on either Saturday May 20 behind
the Eden Town Hall or on May 27 at Eden Heights on Hardt Rd.
Both events begin at about 12 noon. Riders, age to 5, 6 to
9, and 10 to 15 ride through an obstacle course and are graded.
Participants must wear an approved bicycle helmet.
A new bicycle will be given away at each location as a
door prize. The American Legion, Post 880, donated these gifts.
- Motorist are reminded that studded snow tires must
be removed from there vehicles, or the studs removed, by May 1st.
- Filed a report on a stolen cell from a vehicle on Ferrier Road

Police responded to a Hit & Run accident on March Rd and after
their investigation arrested an Angola man for DWI and Unlicensed
operation. His vehicle had left the highway and struck a tree.

Took numerous complaints of mailbox's damaged or destroyed on
Jennings Road area.
Police did locate two youth who damaged box's in
the East Eden area and arraignments were made for
restitution after the victims refused to press charges.

Contacted the Eden Rescue Squad to retrieve a large dog
that had fallen off a cliff on Sisson Highway near Hardt Rd.
The owner of the property was dog sitting while its
owner was away. While walking the dog it bolted over
the cliff landing on a ledge approximately 70 feet above
the creek bed. Squad personnel repelled down the cliff and
attached a harness on the dog, bringing him up to safety.

Issued a Springville man four traffic summons for
violations after he was clocked speeding East Eden Road
in excess of 80 mph. The driver, who attempted
to elude police, lost control of his vehicle on New
Oregon Road in North Collins. He was also issued tickets
by the ECSD who had responded to the area to assist stopping
the vehicle.

Arrested a Blasdell man for Burglary and Criminal Trespass
after he was found in an East Eden Road residence.
A wallet and cash taken from the residence was recovered.
