NOTES & FACTS FROM THE POLICE BLOTTER
  • Seth Howard received the department's Employee of the Month Award. He was nominated for the many extra hours he volunteer on the desk, dispatching and taking complaints.

  • Although addressed more fully under "Frequently Asked Questions" in the Town's Web page, the department wants to remind everyone that we do not use solicitors nor do we benefit from them in any way. Although the calls are legally being made, we urge you to use care if you should decide to contribute to these agencies. Ask for the names, addresses and phone numbers of the fund raiser so that you may call them back after careful consideration. Ask for a financial statement and/or budget information prior to making your decision. If you have any questions please direct them to the police.

  • The Department wishes to congratulate the most recent DARE graduation class and thank Officer Flynn and Officer Parton, the 5th grade Science teachers and Main Street Elementary staff for an excellent ceremony. The skit performed by the students was most interesting and amusing.

  • Police are investigating a Hit & Run accident that occurred on the morning of February 5th. A jogger was struck by a northbound auto on Jennings Rd. between Church St. and Weller Dr. The victim, who sustained a number of fractures, described the vehicle as an older model boxy type car. He recalled the taillights as being clear across the rear and thought it was light yellow or cream in color. The license plate was located under the lights. If you have information on the possible vehicle or driver, please call the police.

Assault charges have been placed against a Cattaraugus, NY woman after she struck a coworker during an argument. The victim needed several stitches to close a laceration and a puncture wound to the face.

  • In response to several inquiries, the department would like you to know that it is illegal to possess more then two cartons of untaxed cigarettes.
