NOTES & FACTS FROM THE POLICE BLOTTER

  • At the police club's monthly meeting, membership noted the work done by Officer Shawn Bishop and William Sickau with the "Drug and Alcohol Free" festivities on New Year Eve. Both are members of the "Celebrate Eden" Committee and, with the group, put together an excellent program that was well attended.

  • Residents are reminded that it is illegal to deposit upon any highway any substance, including snow, that is likely to injure any animal or person, or damage any vehicle. If you plow snow or throw it onto the highway while cleaning a driveway, you must clean up the roadway. Snow must be pushed back past the shoulders.

  • As the snow along the road shoulders mounts, parents are strongly reminded to avoid a possible tragedy, by not allowing children to play on or in the snow banks. Besides the possibility of a child falling into the roadway, highway personnel are fearful of striking someone or burying them while they are plowing. The Highway Superintendent, as weather permits, is attempting to have all snow banks pushed back from the highway which makes kids playing at the road extremely hazardous at this time.
