MESSAGE FROM CHIEF PATRICK M. HOWARD
We are proud to bring you the Eden Police Department website. In our continuing efforts to improve departmental services, we combine new technology with traditional police services in moving our department and community into the 21st century. We believe this is one additional contribution which we can make to improve communications with our citizens. Moreover, our department has recently begun to use in-car laptop computers. Consequently, our officers are more informed while on patrol and before stopping vehicles. They are also enabled to be dispatched silently via this new system, and are free to spend more time on the streets and in the neighborhoods, offering increased security. Eden is a small town with a low crime rate. Credit for this must be shared by the excellent men and women, employees and volunteers that make up the Eden Police Department and by the citizens for their involvement and support of the department. The police are grateful that our community has always worked closely with them in problem solving, even before the Community-Policing concept became so popular. Eden is an excellent place to live, to work and to do business, and we as a department will strive to maintain that excellence.
