Officer Joseph E. Flynn joined the Reserve Unit in 1981 and is presently Captain and the leader of that Unit. He was hired in 1991 as an officer after completing his training at Genesee Community College's part time Officers academy. This training is the same intensive training a full time officer must receive after they are hired. It includes 450 hours of classroom work that began in September of 1990 and ended in May of 1991, all while maintaining his full time job. Officer Flynn was honored at his graduation for finishing first in his class in the Civil Service Physical Agility Testing, 2nd in Firearms training , and carrying a 93 point GPA. He also is the D.A.R.E. officer in Eden, presenting the 17 week course curriculum to our 5th graders. |
