Officer Shawn D. Bishop, a lifetime resident of Eden, was hired full-time in January of 1994. He followed his father's chosen profession who is a deputy sheriff with Erie County. Shawn was a member of the Reserve Police unit before being hired and attended college where he received an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice. The Eden Police Department sponsored his attendance at the Genesee Rural Police Training Institute and he passed finishing 3rd academically in his entire class. He continues to receive training since his hire but like the EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operations best. Shawn is the Juvenile Officer for the Town and is charge with maintaining all juvenile and family offense files and records. He also represents the Department on the Drug Free School Zone committee and is a member volunteer on both the Eden Fire Department and Eden Rescue Squad. |
