Chairman, Mark Agle announced at 7:00 p.m. that the interviews for the Planning Board Alternate Member vacancy would be conducted at this time.

 

Candidates:  Francis J. McLaughlin, Catherine Ann Swiech, Franklin Meyer, DDS, Gary Iacobucci, Larry Place, Joe Eckman, Thomas Zelasko, William Mahoney, Kevin Condon, Esq.

The April 24, 2007 Planning Board meeting was called to order at 8:20 pm.  Minutes of the March 17, 2007 Planning Board Meeting were approved as printed and distributed.  Motion by Dennis Brawdy, seconded by Bill Zittel.  Being no discussion, all “Ayes” motion carried.

 

NEW & UNFINISHED BUSINESS:

 

After much discussion and deliberation by the Board, the following recommendation is made to the Town Board concerning the vacancy of “Alternate Member” on the Planning Board:

The Planning Board hereby recommends that the Town Board favorably consider appointing Mr. William Mahoney, 7417 East Eden Road to the position of alternate member of the Eden Planning Board. 

We further recommend that, if allowable, and acceptable to the Town Board and Attorney, that Mr. Mahoney be designated as the “first alternate member” and that Mr. Franklin Meyer, DDS, 8014 Gowanda State Road, also be favorably considered for appointment as the “second alternate member” thereby resulting in two alternate member positions on the Planning Board.  Should this not be possible for any reason, or if the Town Board wishes not to consider this further recommendation, then we simply recommend the appointment of Mr. Mahoney as alternate member.

Lastly, we recommend that the Town Board also request that the Town attorney opine as to the possibility of enabling the alternate(s) to vote on matters before the Planning Board in the absence of any regular member, as opposed to only times where there is a lack of a quorum of regular members.      

 

 

ANNOUNCEMENTS/REPORTS:

 

The video training session organized by the New York Planning Federation and Wendel Duscherer is scheduled for May 8, 2007 at 7 p.m. the New Angola Theater, Main Street, Angola.  Anyone wishing to attend should RSVP to Wendel. 

 

 

 

 

Bill Zittel – I make a motion to adjourn.  Anthony Weiss – Seconded.  All “Ayes” motion carried.  Meeting adjourned at 9:10 p.m.

 

The next meeting is tentatively scheduled for May 29, 2007 at 7:00 p.m.
