Town of Eden 2012 Bicentennial

The Town of Eden is celebrating its 200th Birthday in 2012 with a series of events throughout the year. These events will highlight the rich history of this agricultural community as we look to the future. One highlight will be a community birthday party in the spring of 2012.

To keep you informed of upcoming events surrounding the Town of Eden's Bicentennial 2012 celebration we will be posting updates to the Town Calendar of the events to keep you informed of our exciting plans. 2012 Events

This is a tentative list of events as of January 2012. Schedule subject to change.

  • January 1st: Early evening fireworks to welcome Eden’s bicentennial year, Fireworks rescheduled due to weather
  • March 24th: Happy Birthday, Eden!! A program and party to commemorate the signing of the town’s charter.
  • May 19th: War of 1812- Living History Encampment. Boy Scouts of America Venture Crew
  • May or June: Tug of war between Eden and Hamburg town officials. Hamburg is also celebrating it’s bicentennial in 2012.
  • July 27th – 29th: Alumni Weekend with expanded activities to include the community at large. Historical and cemetery tours.
  • July: Vietnam Memorial Moving Wall at American Legion Post #880
  • August 2nd – 5th: Eden Corn Festival
  • Sept 21st – 22nd: Heritage Days, a celebration of times past in Eden. Activities will include
    old-fashioned baseball and games, a picnic, antique tractors, a quilt show, historical displays and demonstrations and much more. Something for everyone!
  • December: An ecumenical service and celebration to close out the year.

    The Bicentennial year should be one of community involvement, fun, pride, and thankfulness. The success of this celebration is dependent on the support and involvment of everyone - religious and community organizations, businesses, agri-business, and the school community.
